People from Bankstown, New South Wales, Australia don’t usually end up in the NFL. However, after seeing video clips of Jordan playing in Australia’s National Rugby League, NFL executives invited him to try out for their International Player Pathway Program. He had never played American football and has admitted that his knowledge of the game was minimal – he only watched one NFL game a year, the Super Bowl.
Regardless, in February 2018, he went to IMG Academy in Florida to begin his training. While many teams were impressed with Jordan’s size and agility, they still viewed him as a long-term project that needed time to develop the proper technique for the NFL.
While many teams were apprehensive about Jordan’s lack of experience, Eagles offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland, who scouted Jordan at IMG, saw his potential. Ultimately, the Philadelphia Eagles selected Jordan with the 233rd overall pick in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft. This made Jordan the second player in NFL history to be drafted with no American high school or college experience.
After 2 seasons of learning and dealing with injuries, Jordan made his NFL debut in the 2020 season opener against the Washington Football Team when Jack Driscoll suffered an injury. Jordan then earned his first start in Week 4 of the 2020 season in place of the injured Jason Peters. During the 2020 season, Jordan led the Eagles with the fewest sacks allowed amongst offensive linemen (7) while also leading in pass-pro snaps (502).
Jordan was named the starting left tackle for the 2021 NFL season and signed a four-year, $64 million contract with the Eagles. The next year, as part of the Eagles’ elite offensive line, Jordan helped the team reach Super Bowl LVII which they unfortunately lost to the Kansas City Chiefs 38–35.
Following his continued success, the Eagles signed Jordan to a three-year, $66 million contract extension to keep him with the team through the 2028 season. After helping the Eagles reach the second-seed playoff position in the NFC, Jordan earned a nomination to the NFL’s 2024 All-Pro Second Team.
Since joining the Eagles, Jordan has been noted for his singing ability. In 2022, he competed in season 7 of The Masked Singer as “Thingamabob.” Additionally, since the 2022 offseason, Jordan has released multiple A Philly Special Christmas albums alongside Eagles teammates Jason Kelce and Lane Johnson. Their first album was an instant success and raised over $1.25 million for local charities in the Philadelphia area.
