Seth Godin began his career as an early adopter of e-commerce in the dot com boom. In 1995, Seth launched Yoyodyne, a firm that used online games and scavenger hunts to market companies to users over the internet. Then, Godin sold Yoyodyne to Yahoo! For about $30 million in 1998. Following the deal, Godin became Yahoo!’s vice president of direct marketing.
Godin launched his second venture, Squidoo, in 2006. While still on the cutting edge of rapidly-developing internet communities, Squidoo provided users an easy way to create their own multi-media website.
