Biography

From Prep Phenom to College Football Icon

Born in Spring Valley, California, Reggie Bush’s rise to stardom began early. At Helix High School, he dazzled both on the gridiron and the track, breaking state records and playing alongside fellow Heisman finalist Alex Smith. Ranked the #1 running back in the nation, Reggie was a generational recruit—and USC took notice.

At the University of Southern California, Reggie redefined explosiveness in college football. He helped USC claim two national championships and a 37-2 record during his three years as a Trojan. He also set a Pac-10 record with 513 all-purpose yards in a single game. In 2005, he led the nation in all-purpose yardage—capturing the Heisman Trophy (reinstated in 2024), Doak Walker Award, and Walter Camp Award. In fact, his 784 first-place votes were the second-highest in the history of Heisman voting at that time. Reggie was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2023.

NFL Stardom & Super Bowl Glory

Drafted second overall by the New Orleans Saints in 2006, Reggie Bush delivered on the hype. His versatility made him a nightmare for defenders, as he contributed as a rusher, receiver, and returner. 2010 he helped lead the Saints to a historic Super Bowl XLIV victory—the first in franchise history.

Over an 11-year NFL career that included stints with the Dolphins, Lions, 49ers, and Bills, Bush racked up over 9,000 yards from scrimmage and 58 total touchdowns. He also earned First Team All-Pro honors in 2008 as a return specialist. Known for highlight-reel plays and a game-changing style, Bush was inducted into the New Orleans Saints Hall of Fame in 2019.

Reinstatement & Redemption

In 2024, the Heisman Trust reinstated Reggie’s Heisman Trophy award, recognizing the shifting landscape around college athletics and NIL compensation. USC followed suit, restoring his records and honor at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Media, Movies & Meaningful Impact

Following his football career, Reggie transitioned seamlessly into media serving as a college football analyst and commentator with Fox Sports. Now, he’s entering a new chapter as an actor, starring in Happy Gilmore 2 with Adam Sandler.

Beyond entertainment, Reggie is deeply committed to giving back. He has been recognized for his philanthropy and charitable efforts, particularly in education and children’s health. He has also worked on behalf of the Diamond Empowerment Fund, visiting Botswana and South Africa and raising money for education in diamond-producing countries.
