During Nathalie van Sasse van Ysselt’s time in Berlin, she founded an independent art gallery, kaleidoskop. Her intent was to create a space for communication, break the boundaries between artist and visitor, and create a dynamic environment in the up-and-coming district of Neukölln in Berlin.
Besides running the space, she also curated and designed the venue’s exhibitions, concerts, and performances including the Boddinale Film Festival, Gallery Weekend Berlin, and Fashion Week Berlin.
In 2018, Nathalie transitioned to Creative Lead of Moment Factory’s New York office. With Moment Factory, she directed various location-based experiences for Coachella, Moynihan Train Hall, and Kith while mentoring at the New Museum’s incubator for innovation and technology. In addition, as Multimedia Director for a joint venture between Moment Factory and hospitality mogul Cipriani, Nathalie launched SuperReal, a landmark building at 25 Broadway that’s been outfitted with a permanent multimedia infrastructure. A myriad of brand activations, fashion shows, and parties have used the infrastructure to drive noteworthy moments.
Nathalie then accepted the position of Senior Creative Director at MSG’s Sphere Studios in 2020. Eventually, MSG would split the sphere into its own company, Sphere Entertainment Co., where Nathalie became Vice President of Design and Creative Services.
In that role, she led the Sphere’s in-house creative studio through years of innovation, brand building, experience design, and product development. When the Sphere launched in 2023, it garnered millions of impressions and Nathalie’s team won four Webby Awards for their inaugural content slate. In fact, her standout brand experiences with Fortune 100 companies and international artists include a 10 million+ Formula 1 broadcast (featured on Netflix’s Drive to Survive), a collaboration between A$AP Rocky and Puma, the Oscars, and an enhanced Super Bowl LVIII experience that included a key brand experience with Patrick Mahomes and Adidas. Nathalie also started the XO/Art curatorial program, debuting with artist Refik Anadol, who turned the Exosphere into an AI-powered data sculpture.
