Biography

Bank of America

After graduating with a finance degree from the University of Colorado, Jay began her professional career with Bank of America. She quickly matriculated through the ranks, earning promotions into roles of increased scope and responsibility. Eventually, she became Executive Vice President.

Phoenix Mercury

Following several successful years with BofA, Jay made a career pivot and accepted a front-office position with the Phoenix Mercury as President and Chief Operating Officer in 2004. She hit the ground running and established a winning culture that culminated in the organization’s first championship in 2007 followed by a second in 2009.

While the team succeeded on the court, Jay also ensured success was also accomplished off the court. The organization realized exponential growth during her tenure. Notably, the Mercury partnered with LifeLock for the first-ever corporate-branded jersey in WNBA and NBA history.

Phoenix Suns

In 2010, Jay was offered a position with the Phoenix Suns as the Senior Vice President of Brand Management & Business Development. Her contributions boosted brand awareness, revenue, and customer intelligence through innovative analytics, community, and digital strategies that reached broader audiences.

Super Bowl XLIX

After her success with the Mercury and the Suns, Jay was asked to lead the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee for Super Bowl XLIX. While this was new territory, Jay relied on her previous experience, relationships throughout the state, and uncanny ability to assemble multi-functional teams to ultimately create one of the most successful events in the history of Arizona sports.

COO of the WNBA

When Super Bowl XLIX ended Jay returned to the WNBA, now as its Chief Operating Officer. She played a critical role developing long-term strategies to accelerate global growth and improve continuity within the league’s operational infrastructure.

Arizona Major Events Host Committee

Eventually, Jay returned to serve as the President and CEO of the Arizona Super Bowl Host Committee for Super Bowl LVII in 2023. With the experience she gained from the previous hosting and her established relationships with NFL personnel, the event was even grander than its predecessor.

According to a study completed by the Seidman Research Institute, the total economic impact exceeded $1.3 billion and boosted the state’s GDP by over $700 million. Furthermore, in collaboration with the NFL and several notable partners, over $2.5 million was raised and donated to charitable organizations across the state of Arizona.

After Super Bowl LVII Jay continued as President and CEO of the Arizona Major Events Host Committee. Since then, Jay hosted an extremely successful 2024 NCAA Men’s Final Four and is now preparing for the 2026 NCAA Women’s Final Four.
