Alvin Williams was known as the most integral member of the NBA’s Toronto Raptors, as Team Director of Player Development, and as a player himself. With two decades of NBA experience, Williams knows how to instruct any organization on the benefits of motivation, team building, and time management.
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Williams began his basketball career at Villanova University. He was an exceptional player and after graduation the university inducted Alvin into the Villanova Hall of Fame. Initially drafted into the NBA by the Portland Trailblazers, he was traded to the Toronto Raptors where he quickly excelled. Once he became the team’s starting point guard, he started for the next 82 consecutive games. After an unfortunate knee injury, his playing career had come to an end, but he was not out for the count.
Williams’ passion for basketball could not be stifled and he stuck with the sport as an assistant coach and Team Director of Player Development for the Toronto Raptors. Later on, he began several professional ventures off the court. He is currently an NBA analyst for SportsNet and the co-founder of Team 100, a sports management group focused on athlete education and development.
