Phase 5 · After the Keynote

The Post-Event Debrief and Booking Your Next Speaker

After the event, the Mollie Plotkin Group schedules a call with you to talk about how the keynote went. If the call was not arranged before the event, we will schedule it promptly afterward. This is a chance to compare your impressions with audience feedback, hear what leadership thought and tell us what you would want from a future speaker.

Before the call

You do not need to prepare a report. A few notes on these questions will give us plenty to discuss:

  1. What did the audience respond to? Think about the reactions you saw and the comments you heard. If you used the optional attendee survey, bring its results too.
  2. Did the keynote meet the event's goal? Find out what the leaders who set that goal thought. Audience enthusiasm and leadership's assessment may tell you different things.
  3. What kind of presentation worked for this group? Consider the speaker's style, energy and level of interaction with the audience.
  4. What would you change next time? Think about the speaker you chose, what you asked for and how the program came together.

If another event is on the calendar, bring whatever you know about its timing and audience. You can discuss a new speaker search on the same call.

From the debrief to the next booking

Your answers help the Mollie Plotkin Group understand your preferences for the next program. We also know more about your organization, audience, leadership and decision process after working together, which can make a repeat search faster.

When you expect another event, it is preferable to begin the search right away. You can start with the details you have and add to them as plans develop.

Share what worked at this event and what you know about the next one. The Mollie Plotkin Group can use the debrief to begin identifying speakers for your new program.
