By the end of his college career, Stewart had amassed over 7,700 yards of total offense and led the Buffaloes to multiple top-10 finishes and bowl victories. In 2018, Kordell was inducted into Colorado’s Athletic Hall of Fame.

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 1995 NFL Draft, Stewart’s rare athleticism allowed him to line up at multiple positions, a new archetype for the modern NFL. He quickly became a fan favorite known as “Slash,” a nickname coined by legendary broadcaster Myron Cope.
