The NFL’s Greatest Running Back
Emmitt Smith is widely regarded as one of the greatest running backs in NFL history. Throughout his 15-season career, he earned numerous accolades that led to his induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010.
In 1990, Emmitt was drafted by the Dallas Cowboys and immediately made a name for himself. At his first press conference, he announced he wanted to finish his career as the NFL’s all-time leading rusher. In his first season, he accumulated 11 touchdowns and almost 1,000 yards, along with Offensive Rookie of the Year and Pro Bowl honors. However, he didn’t stop there.
By the end of his career, Emmitt secured his all-time rushing record with 18,355 yards. He also helped lead the Dallas Cowboys to three Super Bowl championships in four years (1992, 1993, and 1995). In Super Bowl XXVIII, he was named Most Valuable Player. Additionally, he was selected to eight Pro Bowls and was a four-time First-Team All-Pro selection. NFL Films also chose him as the 28th Greatest Player in NFL History.
Post-NFL Success
After retiring from football in 2005, Emmitt has worked as a commentator and analyst for ESPN, NFL Network, and Fox. His post-career success also includes winning the third season of ABC’s Dancing with the Stars. However, Emmitt’s main focus has bern entrepreneurship. Currently, he runs several companies involved in real estate, construction, and technology. As a keynote speaker, Emmitt brings his wealth of experience as a successful athlete and entrepreneur to inspire audiences to achieve their goals. He shares insights on leadership, teamwork, perseverance, and overcoming obstacles to achieve success both on and off the field.
