Chris Krebs was the first director of the federal Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA). Before he was the Director of CISA, Krebs served many roles at the Department of Homeland Security. His duties included cybersecurity, critical infrastructure, and national resilience issues. Previously, he also directed U.S. cybersecurity policy for Microsoft. In addition, Krebs served in the George W. Bush Administration as an advisor for international risk management.

In November 2020, Krebs was fired from CISA for debunking election-related disinformation promoted by President Donald Trump:

After leaving office, Krebs joined former Facebook CISO Alex Stamos at the beginning of 2021 to form Krebs Stamos Group, a cybersecurity consultancy. Then in 2023, SentinelOne acquired the Krebs Stamos Group. Since then, Chris has been serving as SentinelOne’s Chief Intelligence and Public Policy Officer. He also serves as the President of PinnacleOne, the company’s strategic advisory group.

On top of all that, Chris is a Co-Chair of the Aspen Institute’s U.S. Cybersecurity Working Group, serves on the Board of the University of Virginia Center for Politics, and is a CBS News Contributor. Additionally, in October of 2022, Krebs joined the Council for Responsible Social Media project which aims to address the negative mental, civic, and public health impacts of social media in the United States.
