Redefining Beauty from the Ground Up
Bobbi Brown started her career as a makeup artist in 1980s New York, frustrated by an industry obsessed with dramatic transformations and unrealistic ideals. In 1991, she introduced ten neutral-toned lipsticks that sparked a global shift toward natural beauty, and Bobbi Brown Cosmetics was born. The brand quickly exploded, leading to an acquisition by The Estée Lauder Companies in 1995. As Chief Creative Officer, she spent more than 20 years transforming the brand into a billion-dollar juggernaut sold globally.
A Relentless Entrepreneur
Never one to sit still, Bobbi left her namesake company in 2016 to reclaim her entrepreneurial spirit. In just a few months, she launched Beauty Evolution, LLC, a platform for her next big ideas. From opening The George, a 1900s estate turned stylish boutique hotel in Montclair, NJ, to launching 18Label, a state-of-the-art photo and video production studio, and creating a multi-platform editorial hub, @justbobbibrown, she reimagined what it means to be a creative founder in the lifestyle space.
Then, at the height of the pandemic in 2020, Bobbi made her triumphant return to beauty with Jones Road, a collection of indispensable clean beauty products that embrace simplicity, diversity, and self-expression. Within five months, Business Insider named Jones Road one of the fastest-growing brands of the year. Today, the award-winning brand has collected accolades from media outlets such as Allure, Vogue, W, In Style, and Essence.
Still Bobbi
On September 23rd, 2025, Bobbi will release her 10th book, Still Bobbi, a personal memoir chronicling her journey from suburban Chicago kid to global beauty icon. The book peels back the curtain on Bobbi’s story, from facing imposter syndrome and navigating body image to building a career without sacrificing motherhood or marriage. Fiercely real, Still Bobbi offers not just wisdom but heart.
A Lifetime of Impact
Bobbi has received countless accolades, including TIME’s 100 Most Influential People in the World (2025), Fortune’s Most Powerful Women, Forbes’ 50 Over 50 Most Influential Women (2022), and BBC’s 100 Women (2015). She has also received the Glamour Woman of the Year Award, The Fashion Group International Night of Stars Beauty Award, and The Jackie Robinson Foundation’s ROBIE Humanitarian Award.
She was even appointed to the Advisory Committee for Trade Policy and Negotiation by President Barack Obama and inducted into the New Jersey Hall of Fame. She holds honorary doctorates from Montclair State University, Fashion Institute of Technology, Monmouth University, and Emerson College.
And while the accolades speak volumes, what truly defines Bobbi is her commitment to living and leading with authenticity. Through her media, her brands, and her voice, she continues to prove that natural is powerful, real is beautiful, and it’s never too late to start again.
