Anjelah Johnson-Reyes hails from San Jose, California and studied speech communications at De Anza College. Her interest in speech communications stemmed from her love of impressions and accents, which would later launch her career.
Before Johnson-Reyes began a career in comedy, she became a cheerleader for the Oakland Raiders. However, she moved to Los Angeles in 2005, started taking improv classes, and rocketed to headlining her own shows. Her meteoric rise was due in part to her stand-up routine being posted on youtube.
