After winning back-to-back state titles at Thornridge High School, Quinn Buckner went to Indiana to play for legendary coach Bob Knight. At Indiana, he was a four-year starter and three-year captain. Even more, during the 1975-1976 season, the Hoosiers went undefeated throughout both the regular season and NCAA tournament. This resulted in an NCAA Championship for Bucker and his teammates. Indiana remains the last school to accomplish this fully undefeated feat. Following his final collegiate season, he was drafted 7th overall in the 1976 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks. Just before joining the Bucks, Buckner won a gold medal as part of the U.S. Basketball team at the 1976 Montreal Olympics. In the NBA, Buckner earned NBA All-Defensive Second Team honors 4 times and won an NBA Championship ring with the Boston Celtics in 1984, cementing a basketball legacy that few can surmount.
