From Scouting Assistant to NFL Visionary

After graduating from North Carolina A&T, where he was defensive tackle and team captain for a conference championship team, Brad Holmes began his career as a public relations intern. However, his true passion started when he joined the St. Louis Rams in 2003. Over the next 18 years, he rose through the ranks to become Director of College Scouting, helping build the foundation for a Super Bowl team and playing a key role in drafting stars like Aaron Donald and Cooper Kupp.

Transforming the Detroit Lions

In 2021, Holmes took over as GM of the Detroit Lions and immediately began reshaping the franchise. With a collaborative approach alongside Head Coach Dan Campbell, Holmes rebuilt the roster with tough, passionate, high-character players. His eye for talent has also delivered consistently top-tier draft classes, turning rookies into instant Pro Bowlers and playoff contributors. His blockbuster trade for Jared Goff and pinpoint draft selections have completely transformed the team’s identity.

A Franchise Reborn

In 2023, Holmes’ vision came to life. The Lions posted a 12-5 record, clinched their first division title in 30 years, and made it to the NFC Championship Game.
